cat house 1 猫ちぐら１
日本の新潟県には「猫ちぐら」という伝統工芸品があります。
「猫ちぐら」とは、藁で作られた猫のお家です。
今回は、それを作ることに挑戦しました。
There is a traditional handicraft called “Neko-chigura” in Niigata prefecture, Japan.
“Neko-chigura” is a type of cat house made out of rice straws.
I am going to challenge this.
まず、底の部分を編んでいきます。これは、猫の大きさや、猫の数によって
適当に大きさを決めます。これはもう少し大きい方がいいようです。
First, weave the bottom part.
The diameter depends on your cat size or the number of cats you have.
The picture above, I need it to be slightly larger than this.
底の部分の大きさが丁度よくなったら、縁を起ち上げます。
When you reach the size you want, then start weaving
the wall by making the edge of the circle upwards.
起ち上げた縁は、このようになっています。
The edge now looks like this.
1/6 Doll Geta(Koppori,Oiran,Funagata) お人形の下駄「こっぽり」「花魁下駄」「舟形下駄」
奥は、花魁の下駄です。鼻緒は羽二重です。手前左は「舟形」と呼ばれる形の台の下駄です。
From the left: Funagata: base board shaped like a boat;
top middle: oiran’s sanmai-ba geta. Hanao (cloth thongs are made out
of habutae silk); and on the right koppori: special
type of geta worn by maiko (geisha apprentice).
こっぽり下駄をmomokoさんに履かせてみました。
Momoko wears koppori: Koppori are distinctive tall geta
which have a small bell inside of its thick sole.
1/6 Doll Geta (Oiran) お人形の高下駄
ドール用の下駄です。花魁道中などで履かれる三枚歯の高下駄です。
These are a special type of geta (Japanese footwear) for dolls.
They are called sanmaiba-geta, which are worn by
oiran, have three tall ha (supporting pieces) that supports the base board.
1/6 doll Geta お人形の下駄
ドール用の下駄です。台は白木と塗りの二種類、鼻緒は全部コットンです。
Three pairs of geta (wooden) clogs for 1/6 size dolls.
There are 2 types of dai, wihch is a wooden board that the foot is set upon:
plain (unpainted) and painted.
Hanao (cloth thong – that passes between the big toe and and second toe) are
all made out of cotton fabrics.
1/6 doll Kimono (cherry blossoms) 桜の着物
桜柄の袷です。
表地はコットンドビー、裏は羽二重です。帯、帯揚げ、帯紐は絹です。
着物がかけられている「衣桁」も作りました。
momokoさんに着付けると、このような感じです。
This is a sakura (cherry blossoms) lined kimono.
The face fabric is a cotton dobby and the lining is a habutae silk.
Accessories such as the obi (belt sash), obi bustle, and obi webbing
all are made out of silk.
I made a kimono hanger, called “ikou”, which is especially for kimono.

1/6 doll : Tsumami kanzashi 3 お人形のつまみかんざし３
トレーシングペーパーを使ったつまみ細工です。
トレーシングペーパーは軽く、張りがあるので花びらの多い菊にしてみました。
Tsumami-zaiku or Tsumami craft flower
made out of thin tracing paper.
Tracing paper is light and firm
so I chose chrysanthemum to make.
花に存在感があるので、色は抑え目に。
Since the flower itself has a strong presence
I added less colors, very moderate.
